Dramatherapy

Using Drama as Therapy…

Dramatherapy is a unique clinical technique which uses drama and all other creative arts to help children explore psychological, socio-emotional and/or behavioural concerns. It encourages self-awareness that helps clients take positive action toward growth and change. Sessions may be group or one-to-one and include a wide range of creative activities such as storytelling, role-play, art, music, and movement. Dramatherapy does not require acting skills or involve performance, but it is an experiential way to explore personal concerns, express emotions and solve problems.

Theatre Arts Projects

Stand Up and Be Heard...

Agape Theatre offers another branch of services known as Applied Theatre or Theatre Arts Projects. These are drama workshop-like sessions in which children develop self-confidence and social skills through drama games, acting, improvisation and creating their own performances. These are fun group sessions focused on creative expression and team work. These projects are culturally relevant to the children participating and aim to encourage public speaking skills, performance skills, and explore all of the aspects of theatre.
